The minister of aviation, Hadi Sirika has been accused in the letter written by the top leaders of aviation of holding their salaries to raise money to fulfill his governorship ambition in his state, Kastina State.
The leaders added that the minister is trying all his efforts to sell off Nigerian airports in Abuja, Lagos, Kano and Port-Harcourt. He is trying to inform the president to privatize the airports with the hope of getting money to fund his political ambition.
The leaders in the aviation sector also accused him that he has also recruited 280 Northerners into the agency in which 26 of them have started documentation without passing through the right procedures.
In the letter issued out, the aviation workers have threatened to embark on strike if the minister refuses to do the needful.
"Accordingly, management is hereby notified that if within seven days from the date of the notice all shortfalls in salary payments are not fully rectified and settled, our unions will commence an indefinite industrial action against the authority," the letter partly states.
